Bachchan blog a milestone in Journalism

April 28, 2008 (Celeb News) - Amitabh Bachchan's blogging could well become a milestone in journalism, provided he persists with it. We love to read his posts, despite the fact that his objectivity is often clouded by emotions; his ability to make his detractors squirm particularly delights us.

Amitabh is as deft with his choice of words, as he is with the delivery of his dialogs on screen. As the son of an accomplished poet, one of India's greatest, he has an enviable lineage and erudition.

His sensitivity and emotional nature, which have been responsible for most of his past travails, have suddenly become his biggest assets. The blog, and his ability to write lucidly, have given him the ability to connect directly with his fans, who don't mind the emotional hype, since they have grown up on it watching it on TV soaps and films.

There are millions of blogs on the internet, and thousands more are added every day. As can be expected, just a handful of blogs eventually succeed, and those that do are usually written by people with a lot of passion, something that Amitabh has. More so than Aamir Khan, and certainly more so than Ajay Devgan, two other A-list actors who have dabbled with blogging.

Unlike Aamir and Ajay, Amitabh has not created his blog to promote his films. He is blogging from his heart.

The danger of course is that Amitabh will eventually stop blogging. Sitting for long hours on a computer is physically punishing, he will soon begin to realize. It can also be hard for other members of your family. Jaya, we bet, now knows what is meant by the term 'computer widow.'

Amitabh may also be tempted to stop once he has vented enough.

We hope that never happens and he continues to blog. However, if he does stop, he would still have made his point.

"Ram Gopal Varma amuses me with his self deprecatory remark on the sms. This morning his text reads - ' Sarkar ( we address each other thus ), people are saying Tashan is as bad as Aag…! If Sholay has set the bench mark for the ultimate hit then the least i achieved with Aag, is that i made it a bench mark for the ultimate flop. ha..ha '"
