24 February 2008 - Shah Rukh Khan was adjudged the best actor for Chak De! India and Kareena Kapoor the best actress for Jab We Met at the 53rd annual Filmfare awards Saturday, February 23 at Yash Raj studios, Andheri, Mumbai.

The event was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan

Akshay opened the evening performing to the beats block buster hits like Hare Ram Hare Ram from the film Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

Other Bollywood stars who performed include Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Himesh Reshammiya.
