23 February 2008 - The 33-year-old Bollywood star was at the IPL auction at Hilton Towers, Mumbai, February 20, to bid for her Mohali team. She secured a good combination of batsmen and bowlers that included Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene Sri Lankan wicket-keeper Kumar Sangakkara, Australian fast bowler Brett Lee and India's own Pathan.

What caught our attention was not the ease with which she and beau Ness Wadia spent Rs 40 crore during the auction but the fact that Preity looked stunning, dressed in a scarlet sleeveless scoop neckline dress that had diagonal pleating at the neck.
She wore a black patent leather belt with a matching broad buckle that accentuated her silhouette.
